LE "G" DI CHATEAU GUIRAUD 2008- BORDEAUX BLANC SEC

Bordeaux is primarily known for its red wines, but is also celebrated for producing Sauternes – one of the greatest sweet wines in the world. In addition it has a long history of producing dry white wines. The best of these white wines have traditionally come from the Graves area, however more and more top Sauternes producers have been creating dry wines. The G de Château Guiraud is one such dry wine, and is made with 70% Sauvignon Blanc and 30% Sémillon. The juice is fermented in the barrel and less stirring occurs before undergoing an additional nine months ageing in the barrel, before being bottled.

The G de Guiraud has a lovely golden colour and the nose is filled with tropical fruits (particularly mango), honey and rich spicy notes. The palate is crisp with intense flavours of pineapple, gooseberry, and hints of vanilla. This balanced wine is perfect for food – it would be a great match for seafood as well as pork dishes.
